Compositing Portfolio
With my shot elements, I incorporated myself using Nuke 3D camera system to track, and rotoscope myself and the plate. To add to the integration I added dynamic lights, shadows, CC, Blur and small 2D particles to this exercise in compositing.
This composite was an exercise to improve my integration skills in different planes and add a believable explosion. The explosion came from an ink plume in a water tank and incorporated using grades, light wrap, glows and multiple assets.
While in charge of lookdev and lighting. I used nuke to comp CC, lens, and cryptomattes, Z position passes to bring a more photorealistic look to the render. I used Substance, Arnold, Maya and nuke in this project.
Lighting Portfolio

Renderman finalist "Scitech" 2024 - Using Blender, Substance, Renderman and Nuke, I participated during Pixars Rendermans challenge 2024. It was a lot of fun to problem solve, and incorporate 3d generalist skills to compositing to bring this piece to life.
As an interior Maya light exercises, I used assets from Turbosquid I implemented texturing animation and lighting to produce a final night moody render.

A personal project that focuses on lighting the same scene for day and night. I grabbed multiple assets from quixel bridge and composed the scene to give it an early look.
Tech Art
My two favorite things in VFX and games are making scenes feel right and being at the cutting edge of visual technology. Tech art pushes me to learn more about the VFX process and constantly learning on new tools and processes. Below are some of the tools I have developed for Maya. And here is the link to my github in case you want to download or see the script for yourself. Github link here
Rock Generator
Scripted in Python, this code grabs the selection specified in the function and it randomly creates a sphere rock in the surface vertex of the selected plane.

This tool can adjust the subdivision of the rocks, the distortion of the rocks, the scale, the offset, the rotation and the amount of rocks scattered.
Wobble Procedural Animation
Scripted in Python, this code grabs the frame range of the Maya project and uses it to grab the selected specified object in the function to add a rotation that wobbles the animation of the selected object.

This tool lets you adjust the distance and velocity of the wobble through the frequency and amplitude in the function.
Alejandro Negrete
I aim to create visuals that ease the coming-of-age process for kids with broken childhoods. I am in my Masters degree in Visual effects with the intent to become a compositing and lighting artist. Still, I am open to learning and do any generalist work.
I am constantly updating my portfolio and working with new pieces of lighting, compositing, and overall generalist.
